'Moving Wall' honoring Vietnam Vets in ETX through Monday

Posted: Updated:
HENDERSON, TX (KLTV) -

A traveling monument has made its way to East Texas to honor the memory of those who fought and died in Southeast Asia a generation ago.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial "Moving Wall" is on display at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson.

The wall contains the names of the over 58,000 Americans who gave their lives during the conflict.

For veterans, it's a solemn remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

"These names on the wall, they were somebody," says Charles Rader, "I think that's really important. There was a Vietnam Veteran here yesterday that told me, 'You know, I just never thought I could go to the real wall; when I saw this I just had to come."

You can pay your respects at the Moving Wall 24 hours a day at the Rader Funeral Home in Henderson.

The wall will be there until noon on Monday.
