It was an afternoon of fun and laughter as Elijah and I made our way through the putt putt course. Elijah is a very sweet and social child. he has a huge heart and an even bigger smile. More than anything, Elijah wants a forever family.
"Having a family that cares about me and if I'm down build me back up," Elijah said.
He looks forward to family game nights and family football. Even though Elijah enjoys making others happy, he sometimes struggles with his own feelings of sadness. During these times, it is very important for his caregivers to remind him how important he is to himself and others.
Elijah enjoys playing video games. His favorite video game is Call of Duty. So it comes as no surprise that Elijah wants to serve his country.
"I want to be in the navy seals, delta force," Elijah said.
He hopes his new family will take him to tour some naval bases. Elijah also enjoys all sports
"Basketball, football or go fishing." Elijah said.
This 8th grader likes going to school, because he enjoys socializing with his peers.
Elijah's favorite subjects include, "social studies and math," Elijah said.
Elijah loves to eat good meals.
"Cinnamon rolls, pizza, vegetables," Elijah said.
Elijah has a very big personality with a great sense of humor. he loves to make those around him laugh. He is very caring and protective of people close to him. His big heart is seen when asked about his three wishes. Remember, he could have anything he wanted and instead chooses to think of others.
"Become president, find everyone in foster care a home and the last thing is help everyone out that had a hard time like me growing up," Elijah said.
Elijah's forever family will need to be patient with him as he transitions to his new home. Accepting him and encouraging him to achieve his goals. Elijah will respond best to a family who is nurturing, attentive, and active and most importantly willing to show Elijah the Gift of Love.
