Freedom Fighters: Jack and Delbert Gray

Charles Gray, the oldest of the three Gray brothers, was trained as a fighter pilot, while Jack the middle brother was an army infantryman, and Delbert was an air corps radio specialist.


Jack Gray joined the army in 1942 as soon as his last semester at Texas A&M was over..  

because of his college training, he was a commissioned officer when he hit the Normandy beach on June 6,1944.

Jack and his platoon hit their heaviest fighting in the French Hedgerows, the dense ancient plantings used for property lines.
