Second ballot error for East Texas county

Posted: Updated:

PITTSBURG, TX (AP/KLTV) - A small East Texas county is awaiting word from the secretary of state on what to do with 253 ballots already cast after an error was discovered on the first day of early voting.

Camp County clerk Elaine Young said officials made "emergency ballots" Monday while they waited for new ballots to be printed.

Young said Libertarian candidate Sherri Little was listed as a Democrat in a State Board of Education race. Young said Little pointed out the error about 2 p.m. Monday.

Young said it was the second time ballots had to be reprinted for the general election. Young told KLTV that a write in candidate for the 4th district of Texas for the U.S. House of Representatives was left off the ballots in four counties (Camp, Delta, Franklin, Rockwall), but she said that error was fixed before voting began.
