Released by the Tyler Police Department:
On 10-19-2012 at
approximately 1542 hrs., Tyler police officers responded to a bank robbery at
Austin Bank located at 5515 Old Bullard Road. When officers arrived on
scene they learned that a white male in his mid 30's, approximately 6 foot
tall, wearing a striped shirt, dark colored zip up hooded jacket, a white Texas
Ranger's baseball cap with a red "T" on the front and blue jeans approached a
teller and passed her a note demanding money. After receiving an
undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect exited the bank and left the area on
foot. Officer's searched the neighborhood around the bank but were unable
to located the suspect. Investigators with the major crimes unit, as well
as the FBI arrived soon after and began investigating. A photo of the
suspect is attached to this email.
