Freedom Fighters: Desi Garrigan

Desi Garrigan had wanted to be in the navy ever since he saw his first ship as a boy.

As a 17 year old navy fireman in 1979, Garrigan had started his naval career at the very bottom.

On August 2.1990, Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait, and were poised to invade Saudi Arabia.

By January of '91, American and allied troops were in the air, on the ground, and on the

water.. Garrigan was aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln in the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm.
