Funeral arrangements set for four killed in WY plane crash

MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) -

Funeral arrangements have been set for the four East Texas men killed last week in a plane crash in Wyoming. 

The plane went missing while en route from Harrison County to Casper, Wyoming on Tuesday, October 9. After a two-day search, the wreckage of the Piper PA-32 was found on a rocky ledge on the south face of Wyoming's Laramie Peak.

On Thursday, recovery crews recovered the remains of 29-year-old James Morgan of Marshall, TX, 52-year-old Charles Ford of Marshall, TX, 21-year-old Maverick Cayce of Longview TX and 65-year-old Billy Gee of Karnack, TX.

According to a Facebook Page set up by a family member of one of the victims, funeral arrangements for James Morgan are being handled by the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Marshall. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church. Following, there will be a graveside service at Youngblood Cemetery in Beckville. If desired, donations may be made to the Ashley & Kiptyn Morgan Fund at Panola National Bank, 1510 W Panola, Carthage, TX 75633.

The visitation for Chuck Ford will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 4608 Elysian Fields Road, Marshall, TX. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. also at Downs Funeral Home.

There will be a visitation for Maverick Cayce on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at KRS Aviation next to the Gregg County Airport at 151 Skyway, Longview, Texas. On Thursday at 11 a.m., there will be a funeral service at Fellowship Bible Church, which is located at 4600 McCann Road in Longview, TX.

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Billy Gee at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th. It will be at Hangar 16, Harrison County Airport, 2130 Warren Dr. If anyone needs directions they can call 903-935-6600. The Billy Gee Memorial Scholarship has been set up at East Texas Professional Credit Union.

Both the FAA and the NTSB are investigating the cause of the crash. The NTSB is the lead investigative agency.
