Dream Home Attracting A Crowd

The city of Tyler landed in the limelight back in March, when HG-TV announced Tyler as the location of their new 2005 dream home. The house won't be unveiled until next year but today, one of the most prominent Real-Estate Firms in Texas got a sneak peek at someone's potential dream-home.

It's in a private gated community on Lake Tyler, filled with towering trees, a tranquil atmosphere...and it could be yours.

"I think it will be a magnet for people who want and who can afford beautiful dream homes," says Ebby Halliday, founder and chairman of Ebby Halliday Realtors. But not just any dream home- it's the HG-TV dream home, which is why one of the largest independently owned Real-Esate Firms in Texas came to see the dream home destination for themselves.

The home, more than five-thousand square feet and valued at one million dollars, is drawing national attention and giving the real Estate firm a boost in it's spotlight.

"It draws from HG-TV. The publicity that it draws is just overwhelming, because it is so nation wide and for Ebby Halliday to be a part of that is just tremendous," said Kathy Kerrigan, Office Manager of Ebby Halliday's Frisco office.

Last year 36 million people entered the contest, but this year, HG-TV expects that number to be up by at least 25 percent.. Why? Ebby Halliday says because times are changing.

"The world is ready for peace and quiet and relaxation."

Even those who have the pick of every house on the market are looking to get in on the contest that is only getting bigger with every addition to the "Dream Home"

"I want to know where I can enter so I be the winner of the dream home," said Kerrigan.
