Edom - Edom Community Center Park.  Fireworks show presented by the Edom Fire Department .  Donations towards the fireworks can be made at the Edom Bank and at show.

Jefferson - Live music by Shreveport Metropolitan Band, cake & pie auction, homemade ice cream contest, fireworks display.  Bandstand & Riverfront. #903-665-2672

Jefferson - 10th Anniversary  “Jefferson Salutes America” , “Fireworks Fantazmagoria” as the grand finale on Sunday, over historic Jerfferson’s turning basin.  Fireworks display, $10,000 in pyrotechnic charges will be fired over the river’s natural amphitheatre, caps off an evening of live music & family fun reminiscent of Norman Rockwell’s idyllic America.  Evening starts off @ 5pm in downtown Jefferson’s Otstott Park with supervised children’s games and a decorated bike & tricycle parade around the bandstand. Pie and Cake Auction benefiting the purchase of children’s books for Jefferson’s Carnegie Library.  The Shreveport Municipal Concert Band returns to Otstott Park gazebo, patriotic music.  “Quacker State 500” downstream race of 500 plastic ducks, one lucky winner will win the grand prize of $500 in cash.  The duckies can be sponsored for $5 each benefiting Jefferson’s youth sports.  “Fireworks Fantazmagoria” begins at 9:30pm.  More info call, Marion County Chamber of Commerce (903) 665-2672 or Jefferson Salutes America 903-665-3300.

Gilmer - Gilmore’s Yamboree Association-Fireworks show @ Buckeye Stadium on Saturday.  Free show & open to public, opens at 7pm. On visitors side of stadium.  Concessions will be available.  Patriotic music accompanying the show will be broadcast on 97.5 FM.

Tyler - Tyler Jaycees will again sponsor its annual celebration @ Lindsey Park.  Spur 364.  Gates open 4pm , charge is $5 per car.  Food and souvenir vendors will be set up & live music by Saltwater Flys.  Bring blankets and chairs.  No alcohol or other fireworks are allowed in the park.  Fireworks will begin after nightfall.  Law agencies on hand to provide safety and help get traffic in and out of park.

Tyler - Residents who live near Andy Woods Elementary School can gather @ 9:30am Saturday morning for a parade and party.  Heines Drive will be blocked off so children in patriotic-themes clothing and decorated bikes can take part in the parade.  All are welcome to participate.  After parade, Mayor Joey Seeber will speak and there will be singing of patriotic songs and activities for children. 

Tyler - Knollwood Subdivision residents off Old Jacksonville Highway near Gresham will step off its annual parade at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

A neighborhood tradition attracts about 100 participants.  Children all ages will wear red, white and blue.  They will ride bikes, strollers, little cars and wagons along the parade route.  Flint-Gresham Volunteer Fire Department will take part.

Tyler - Green Acres Baptist Church, “I love America” Celebration.  Pastor David Dykes, invites the community to the “I Love America” Celebration with special guest speaker U.S. Air Force Captain, Scott O’ Grady.  The GABC Choir & Orchestra will also perform at 9am and 11am.  More info call Kelli Vance 903-525-1100.

Longview - Greggton United Methodist Church, celebrating Red, White and Blue Jean Sunday.  Rev. Tony Ciomperlik, recently returned from serving in Iraq will share a special message at the 8:30 & 11am services.  Attendees are encouraged to wear jeans and bring a spare pair for donation to Longview Community Ministries.  After morning worship, everyone is invited to stay and enjoy Old Fashioned 4th with food, games, music and family fun.  Contact: Jill Krone 903-759-3831.

Uncertain - The City of Uncertain’s Annual Floating Parade, Miss Uncertain Contest & Fireworks Extravaganza held at Caddo Lake, beginning @ 7pm.  Parade to begin @ north end of Taylor Island & travels to Johnson’s Ranch & on to the Dallas Caddo Club.  NO entry fee, each participating boat receives 2 Uncertain Floating 4th of July Parade embroidered collector’s caps.  Prizes drawn in a random drawing will also be awarded participating boaters.  Entries must be of floating nature and motor driven.  Boats can register to enter @ north end of Taylor Island beginning at 6.  Judging the parade will take place @ Johnson’s Ranch & trophies $ for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place entries will be awarded @ Johnson’s Ranch following parade.  2nd annual Miss Uncertain contest will begin @ 8pm at Johnson’s Ranch.  Wishing to enter should call the Ranch office @ 903-789-3213.  The selected Miss Uncertain will reign over the festivities of the Christmas parade.  Miss Uncertain traditionally has very hairy legs.  Fireworks display begins at 9pm, can be viewed from Johnson’s Ranch.  More info call Dottie Carter/ Sam Canup (903) 789-3268
