Authorities caution residents after string of Gregg Co. burglaries

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Gregg County authorities are telling residents to keep a close eye on their property after a spree of burglaries.

Over a three week period, investigators say there have been numerous car and home burglaries on Longview's south side and Northeast Gregg County.

Investigators say more than a dozen vehicles were broken into.

In those burglaries, guns, electronics, cash, and even garage door openers were taken.

The thieves also entered several garages.

Investigators say that sometimes, social media can even contribute to thefts.
