KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - Former Ben-Gal and Dixie Heights HS teacher Sarah Jones, 26, is expected to plead guilty to a non-sex related misdemeanor offense Monday morning. Jones has accepted a plea deal for allegedly having sex with one of her 17-year-old students. As part of the deal, she will not serve any jail time, she will not have to register as a sex offender, and the text messages between she and the teen will be sealed by the court.

Jones was indicted on charges of first-degree sexual abuse and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor in sexual or other prohibited acts in March. The charges stem from an investigation at Dixie Heights High School in November.

Jones stepped down from her position teaching English to Dixie Heights High School freshman when the investigation began in November citing "personal reasons."

Jones is scheduled to appear in Kenton County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. on Monday, her trial was set to begin on Wednesday.

Jones' mother Cheryl, who was facing charges of tampering with physical evidence after allegedly assisting with the disposal of a cell phone will also plead to a misdemeanor charge. She will be conditionally discharged with no jail sentence.
