106 year old man ready to vote in presidential election

Frank Livingston, 106 years old Frank Livingston, 106 years old

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Employees at a local radio station were astounded when 106 year old Frank Livingston showed up to register to vote during their registration drive. They wound up doing a house call to help him correct a mistake in paperwork they had him fill out.

"If this man cares that much about his country, it should inspire everyone to do the same," said Faye Blackwell, radio station owner.

Livingston said it's important to be part of the process.

"Why does it matter to me? It may not be for me with my age, but what about my descendents. That's what I want," said Livingston.

According to Livingston he doesn't belong to either party and in fact has signed letters from two presidents: George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

"These parties don't mean nothing to me," said Livingston.

Although we are still one month out from the November 6th election Livingston suggested he is still a bit undecided and prefers to keep his views to himself.

"Anytime anyone's standing for justice in what he's running for, that's who I'm for," said Livingston.

After checking with the Calcasieu Registrar of Voters it turns out Livingston has been registered since 1983, is active and ready to go.

It is important to make sure the registrar has your correct address to avoid voting difficulties down the road. Don't forget the deadline to register in time the presidential election is at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 9th.
