56-year-old William Henry Knight appeared before a judge at 2:00 Friday, and was denied bond for killing his estranged wife. Knight was arrested in Crisp County on 1-75 Thursday afternoon in connection to the murder of 52-year-old Shirley Knight in Thomasville.
The Knights were estranged, and is William Knight is charged with murder.
For hours Thursday, police occupied the scene of Knight Services Taxes and Bookkeeping business on East Jackson Street and Love Street.
An autopsy is pending on the victim's body.
The suspect was caught Thursday in Cordele. "In the victim's vehicle which is a 2007 Mercedes C230. He was stopped on 1-75 in Crisp County by the Crisp County Sheriff's Department," said TPD Lt. Eric Hampton.
Investigators went to Cordele, where they interviewed Knight, and then transported him to Thomasville.
