Mexican National Sentenced In Sexual Assault

It's probation and a possible deportation for a Mexican national convicted in a child molestation case. In 2001, before he could be prosecuted, Alberto Vasquez fled Texas. He was later caught in Florida, and extradited back to East Texas.

Earlier this week in Longview, he was sentenced to 10 months probation for sexual assault of a child. He must also register as a sex offender.  He's now facing deportation proceedings. The victim, who was then 13, later claimed to be Vasquez's girlfriend.
