ST. LOUIS, MO (KLTV) -

An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing after a medical issue with a crew member Monday morning.

Flight 2309 from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was diverted to St. Louis.

Rafer Weigel of WLS-TV, the ABC affiliate in Chicago, was on that flight and tweeted a picture of a member of the crew being loaded into an ambulance.

Weigel said it was the first officer who had experienced chest pains and medical personnel met the plane at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. He said the pilot only came over the speakers in the cabin to say 'we're having an issue up here. We're landing in St. Louis' before landing.

Another crew was provided and the flight continued to DFW to land around 1:30p.m. Monday.
