Tiny injured dog abandoned in dumpster

A puppy was left inside a dumpster in Louisville, Kentucky.

Police say it was only a matter of time until they find the person who dumped the badly injured dog in the trash.

The dog was taken to a vet, who said judging by the infection, the female Chihuahua's injuries likely happened sometime Monday.

Some people who live nearby found the dog on top of a cardboard box, covered in sores and fleas.

Police hope to catch whoever is responsible for the animal cruelty very soon.
