Posted: Updated:

Tyler fire crews responded to a house fire sparked by a large limb falling on an electrical source.

Just after 7 a.m., a large pecan tree limb fell on the weather head of a home in the 600 block of East Rosedale, damaging the electrical feed and shorting out wires at the meter box, causing a small fire in the back of the home. When firefighters arrived on the scene they found four separate arch locations inside the home.

There were seven people inside the home at the time of the fire, who called 911 when they smelled the smoke. Fire crews evacuated all of them from the home while they investigated the cause of the fire.  ONCOR was called to the scene and disconnected services to the house until the electrical meter and wires are repaired and inspected by the by Tyler's electrical inspector.

The firefighters discovered there were no smoke detectors in the home. After putting the fire out, firefighters then installed smoke detectors in the bedrooms.

No one was injured.
