ETX college agrees to give up historic building

Posted: Updated:
JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas college, still closed amid financial difficulties, has lost an historic building.

Lon Morris College in Jacksonville agreed to give up the "Landmark Building" in Jacksonville.

That building was used for the school's hospitality courses. School officials said during their reorganization that the building would not be needed.

The Landmark Building has been in Jacksonville for decades and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Lon Morris canceled its fall semester classes, and is due back in bankruptcy court October 10.
