Local 'party favor' business invited to Emmy Awards in NYC

HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas business has just shipped hundreds of their homemade products to be given out as gifts at the News and Documentary Emmy Awards.

This local business make favors of all kinds for any event, and their main line of business comes from across the nation, and even internationally.

Shari Gray and her husband sell a unique collection of nature-inspired favors: pine cone fire starters, bird seed decorations and favors, and even plantable confetti favors.

'Nature Favors' sprouted in 2002, but the idea of creative gifts came to Gray when she was a child.

"I would make sure everyone would receive one, and it was always something they couldn't get anywhere else. So I would always try to be as creative as I could," said Gray.

After years of gift creating, Gray found her best-sellers.

"I gave out this particular gift that everyone seemed to really love, which happened to be the bird seed favors that we currently have, and those are actually still our top-sellers," said Gray.

Gray's 'Nature Favors' grew in no time. Now she ships internationally, and has even been featured on Good Morning America.

"I love what I do and I feel so blessed. I couldn't have done it without my friends and family, that's for sure," expressed Gray.

A representative of the 33rd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards contacted Gray.
They want to include her product in a gift bag that will be handed out.
Gray had to call to confirm it was true.

"She confirmed with me that this was legitimate, and that they needed 800 of my items in New York City by this coming Friday," said Gray.

So after hours of packing and shipping, Gray now has even more opportunity to grow her business, that began here in East Texas.
