Tylerites back on the road after 'tarry' mess damages vehicles

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Many East Texans are back on the road after having their cars repaired from a construction mishap.

Last month, cars rolled through a "tarry" mess on Tyler's Loop 323.

Rains lifted a sealant on the roadway, that caused tar and gravel to stick to vehicles.

Several drivers had to receive new tires and paint. Those victims say they have received money from the contractor's insurance company to cover those costs.
