The trial for the Whitehouse grandparents accused of scalding their two-year-old granddaughter's feet began Tuesday morning.

The opening arguments are underway in the trial of Co-defendants Shelley and Kenneth Walker.

They were arrested back in March after a week long investigation.

In the arrest affidavit, doctors told police they believe the Walkers held their two-year-old granddaughter's feet, holding them in 135 degree water for about ten seconds.

The child was treated in the hospital for burns. She and her two siblings were then put under the custody of Child Protective Services.

Witnesses set to testify include: doctors, law enforcement, and family members.
