Come visit B-29 'FiFi' before she leaves Tyler Pounds Friday

Posted: Updated:

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - It hasn't been to East Texas in decades, and now this World War II bomber is getting a lot of attention.

The only still operational B-29 WWII bomber plane is in town at the Tyler Pounds Regional Airport, and today a few lucky people got the chance to actually fly in this huge plane.

There's been a steady group of people out here for the past two days. The Aviation Museum said about 700 total people have come out to look at FiFi.

Many people who came out today were veterans. One WWII veteran actually flew a B-29 in Japan more than sixty years ago.

FiFi will leave Tyler Pounds Friday at 10:00 a.m., and the public can watch her take off and fly by the gate.
