TJC awarded $12M grant

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

The Labor Department just announced that an East Texas College will be getting more than $12 million in a grant.

Tyler Junior College's Grocery Management Program, in partnership with Brookshire's received the grant to put towards the training program.

School President Doctor Mike Metke said this is a great example of them pushing forward local work opportunities for students.

Part of the grant money is going to five colleges nationwide.
