No money for gas, woman rides daughter's pink bike to job interview

CHERRYVILLE, NC (WBTV) - One woman takes finding a job very seriously; so much so that when she knew she couldn't drive to a job interview, she rode a bike 13 miles.

She was let go from a job due to the struggling economy, so her new job became finding a job. She says when she got a job interview at a payment center. She wasn't going to pass up the opportunity.

She knew she wasn't going to have the money to put gas in her car, so she made other arrangements. She grabbed her daughter's pink bike and off she went on the two county trip.

It takes 25 minutes by car; it took the woman three hours by bike.

Kimberly White said, "On the way back I saw the sign: Cherryville - 7. And I thought 'miles?' Haha!"

Determination took her all the way to her interview on the bike. She admits it was grueling, and she was sweaty when she arrived, but she cannot find any reason why it wasn't worth it.

So far, though, no phone calls have come through that she got the job.
