Man busted for trying to pay for sex with 10-year-old

PAINESVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

Robert Jones, 65 was arraigned in Painesville Municipal Court Monday afternoon after police busted him for trying to find a 10-year-old to have sex with.

Police say a man came to them on Thursday saying Jones offered him $300 to find him a boy.

Fortunately the person who got Jones' request called police.  They then used an undercover officer to set up a fake offer.  A man who lives next door to Jones and has a 10 year-old daughter of his own says Jones never really came out of his house and no one really knows him.

"I always got my kid here, I always take care of them.  That's what dads do is take of them and keep an eye on your kids," said Robert Jones' neighbor.

Police began their investigation and made a recorded phone call to Jones about setting him up with a boy.  They arrested him on Sunday.

Jones' bond was set at $50,000.
