Apparently, even Frankenstein is feeling the economy's effects...

Happy Friday, y'all. Hope it's a great one!

We're working on so many things for you this afternoon; here are just some of the things you'll see this afternoon at 4,5, and 6 on KLTV, KTRE and, where we'll be livestreaming for you:

Police in Charlotte say a man in a Frankenstein mask robbed four gas stations across the city at gunpoint within an hour and a half of one another early Thursday morning. We'll show you the surveillance video at 4; it's crazy! Economy or no, we encourage Frankenstein (and all of us) to refrain from stealing. Still, you'll want to see the video.

Then, we'll show you the story of a cat who saved his owner's life! Dogs aren't the only ones who can do that, you know. Check out the story of Buddy and watch his owners tell exactly what happened during East Texas News at 4:30.

At 5, we'll discuss the evacuations of UT Austin and North Dakota State University that occurred earlier today. We'll update with the latest information for you, along with all the latest local news.

And at 6, we're going to do a follow-up on the Longview animal shelter that's been under fire lately, and talk about whether or not they'll remain open.

We'll also tell you a bit about Day For Kids in Bergfeld Park, a great family event tomorrow in Tyler that your little ones won't want to miss. Almost everything at DFK is free; bring along some money for concessions, of course, in case you get hungry from all the playing and making your very own weathercast! We'll even be showing some of the kids' weathercasts on the news this weekend; it's so much fun to watch. Come join us from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.

And of course, we'll give you the most accurate and dependable weekend forecast for tonight (under the Friday night lights...will it rain?) and the rest of the weekend, too.

We'll see you soon!

P.S. Cedric with ZaZa's Italian Cuisine is going to join us tonight at 5pm for in the Kitchen; don't miss it! You won't believe how great his food is.
