COPY-$5,000 reward offered in string of robberies; man in Frankenstein mask accused

Police in Charlotte say a man in a Frankenstein mask robbed four gas stations across the city at gunpoint within an hour and a half of one another early Thursday morning.

The first robbery happened in the University City area at 2:53 a.m. on Mallard Creek Road, police told WBTV.

The second happened at 3:19 a.m. at The Plaza. The third happened at 3:42 a.m. at the 7300 block of Albemarle Road.

Officers say the fourth robbery happened on the 7000 block of W.T. Harris Boulevard at 4:19 a.m.

Police also believe the robber might have been involved in three other previous robberies.

The suspect was also wearing blue jeans and a black long sleeve shirt. He left each location on foot, but is believed to be traveling in a vehicle.

There is no description of the vehicle at this time. If you have any information, you're asked to call the police.
