Severe Weather Hits East Texas

The weather that blew through East Texas Saturday night, has caused problems for some homeowners.

A 60 ft. tree in the front yard of a home on Medina St. in Southeast Tyler came out of the ground, landing on a power line.

There were no injuries but it did knock the power out in surrounding homes. Those living nearby said it all happened suddenly.

Even with wind gusts up to 40 mph Saturday, officials said it was the wet ground that probably caused the tree to come up.
