Local man was in NY on 9/11, shares experience with us at 5

Good afternoon, everyone! We hope your Tuesday is going very well.

Here's some of what we're working on for you in the ETX newsroom:

It's on all our minds today; the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. We'll share some memories of that tragic day with you, and we'll speak with a man who was a student in New York on that day. Annette Falconer visited with him this morning, and she'll bring you his story at 5.

Also at 5, Dr. Ed Dominguez will join us live to answer the most-asked questions and most common concerns about flu vaccines. He'll tell us whether it's important for all age groups, who should and should not receive the shots, and more.

Tyler Police are investigating an attempted robbery and purse snatching outside of a Tyler store today. Authorities say a black male in his early 20s, about 6' tall with a thin build, wearing a gray shirt with a black garment wrapped around his neck, walked into the Payless Shoes store on 64W and  displayed a handgun, and advised the clerk it was a robbery. More at 6.

Also, our Melanie Torre has been working on a story for you today about a Wood County man who filed a lawsuit against the Wood Co. Commissioner's Court, complaining about the commissioner's routine prayer and the "In God We Trust" display in the courtroom. But he's NOT complaining for the reasons you might think. Make sure you check out what he had to say at 6.

And on the web, we'll fill you in about this weekend's huge Children's Clothing Consignment Sale in Tyler. If you need anything for your children, or furniture, home decor, and more, make sure you check it out. Details are right here.

We'll see you soon!
