AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas quarterback David Ash scored on a 49-yard touchdown run and had receivers turn short throws into two more scores and the No. 17 Longhorns routed New Mexico 45-0 Saturday night.

Ash was 16 of 22 for a career-high 221 yards for Texas (2-0).'s touchdown run came on Texas' sixth play from scrimmage.

In the third quarter, Ash flipped the ball to Daje Johnson in the backfield and the freshman scooted around the end for a 45-yard TD.
