PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Taylorsville residents made their way to Trustmark Park in Pearl on Saturday night to see one of their own.

Who are they watching?

Pensacola Blue Wahoos short stop Billy Hamilton.

Hamilton broke the minor league single season stolen base record on August 21.

The record was 145 stolen bases in one season.

Entering Saturday night's game Hamilton had stolen 149 bases.

Family and friends made the drive from Taylorsville and for many it was the first time to see Hamilton play in the minors.
