19 E. Texans rounded up in DEA bust

Thirty people have been identified and indicted in a major Texas drug trafficking investigation, and 19 are East Texans.

The investigation involved Smith County and three other Texas counties.

From August 22, 2012 to August 23, 2012 a combined task force of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies began executing 30 federal arrest warrants for defendants charged in a conspiracy to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine in and around the Greenville, Texas area since 2010.

On Aug. 9, a federal grand jury returned a 6-count Indictment charging 30 individuals with conspiracy to distribute and possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute. 

The following defendants are named in the indictment:

Jesus Maya, 22, of Dallas;

Isidro Villanueva, 34, of Kaufman, Texas;

Martin Sanchez Garcia, 35, of Greenville, Texas;

Felix Villegas, 26, of Dallas;

Luciano Villegas, 37, of Dallas;

Maria Delsocorro Rentaria, 27, of Dallas;

Renee Lynn DeLuna, 46, of Dallas;

Jennifer Leigh Hennington, 37, of Greenville;

Tanahi Guadalupe Tejeda, 22, of Grand Prairie, Texas;

Mickey Trent Reed, 26, of Lone Oak, Texas;

Regina Mae Busby, 32, of Greenville;

Jocelyn Janeen London, 35, of Greenville;

Javier Ruelas, 33, of Greenville;

Todd Allen Hammer, 37, of Greenville;

Anthony Joseph Mabe, 41, of Greenville;

Kevin Vandergiessen, 27, of Quinlan, Texas;

Mark Lee Sherrod, 28, of Quinlan;

Jeremy Paul Sattler, 27, of Quinlan;

Scott Alan Collingsworth, 51, of Royse City, Texas;

Somer Leigh Edwards, 30, of Dallas;

Steven Oneal Shepherd, Jr., 42, of Greenville;

Kelley Wayne Hewitt, 31, of Kaufman;

Jason Tyler Ellis, 41, of Rowlett, Texas;

Grady Lee Vollintine, 25, of Lone Oak, Texas;

Jason Dale Jacobs, 30, of Grand Saline, Texas;

James Edward Rowland, 56, of Quinlan;

James Brian Humphrey, 36, of Como, Texas;

Jennifer Lynn Loggins, 36, of Greenville;

James Dennis Sloan, 53, of Arp, Texas; and

Janice Wells Sloan, 52, of Arp

Jason Dale Jacobs, Javier Ruelas, Mickey Trent Reed, Steven Oneal Shepherd, and Regina Mae Busby are also charged in separate counts of possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.

    From the Tyler Police Department On Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 1:16 a.m., Tyler Police responded to the 8300 block of Paluxy Drive on a head-on collision. Upon arrival by EMS and Tyler Fire it was determined that that one driver was deceased and the other driver was pinned in. Accident investigators said that a 2014 GMC Sierra driven by Dakota Payne, W/M, age 27, of Diana, Texas was traveling northbound on Paluxy and drove into the southbound lane striking a 2000 GMC Yukon head-on....

    Longview Fire Department responds to residential fire

    The Longview Fire Department responded to a residential fire on the corner of Alpine Road and Bolivar Street in Longview. Five fire engines responded. Witnesses stated that flames were appearing out of the house. The fire is under control but is not completely out yet.
