Recent REL Graduates Sentenced For Robbery

Two recent Robert E. Lee High School graduates will face prison time for robbing two women back in February.

Just days before the crime, one of the convicted robbers had signed to play football next year at Texas A&M University.

The victims, a mother and daughter, were leaving the Foley's department store in Tyler on a Saturday night, when they were attacked by 18-year-olds Quentin Gardner and Anthony Bendy.

Bendy was sentenced to nine years in prison. Gardner, who received a full scholarship to Texas A&M, was sentenced to five years.

It is unknown at this time what will happen to Gardner's acceptance and scholarship to A&M, but we will continue to follow the case and let you know.
