Train Narrowly Misses Longview Teen

A Longview teenager had an extremely close call this afternoon as he narrowly escapes being run down by a train. Investigators say a 13-year-old boy was walking down the railway tracks on a 25 foot bridge near Sabine Street when he saw a train coming and tried to turn to avoid being hit.
The boy says his backpack was caught by the train and knocked him into the creek below. Rescue units extracted the youngster from the creek and he was transported to a local hospital. The boy suffered only cuts and bruises, no serious injuries.
