Clayton Moore grows in Jackson State offense

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

JSU coach Rick Comegy is hoping to decide on a starting quarterback soon for the Tigers.

Former Louisville High School and Akron starting quarterback Clayton Moore is hoping the coaching staff gives him the nod.

Moore has been challenging senior Dedric McDonald for the quarterback job during fall camp.

Moore says he is growing more comfortable in the JSU offense as he closes the gap for a potential starting gig.

"I started off slow. I was very inconsistent the first week of practice but these last four to five have gone well for me, and I think it's just due to knowledge of the offense. Knowing where people are going to be, which allows my confidence to grow. When you play with confidence, you play a lot better," Moore stated.
