Scott "Skittle" Johnson is a 31-year-old Houston-area native. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1999.

Skittle is a seasoned musician, having toured with the likes of Jason Cassidy, Vince Gill, Clint Black and Dwight Yoakam.

Scott got his "big break" when he was just 17; musician Charlie Daniels invited him to tour, and that he did. Skittle toured with Daniels for two years.

Although the fiddle is his bread and butter, Scott has an array of instruments he plays: Mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, piano, trumpet, cello, saxophone, upright bass, harp and harmonica. He was studied music in college.

Coming from a musical family, Skittle credits his father as his biggest influence, along with Johnny Gimble and Doug Meyers.

Being on the road is a thrill for Skittle, but he sure misses being with his two little girls.

As for advice for aspiring musicians, Scott says, "Practice, practice, practice, practice," and keep in mind that you'll "never stop learning."

Skittle admits he's a bit of a nerd. His non-musical interests are mostly electronic in nature. He holds a network administration degree, and enjoys web site design, photo editing, and video gaming.

Also, he really enjoys being a dad.

This won't be Skittle's first time to perform on the stage at Billy Bob's Texas, but it's still all the meaningful. He's looking forward to the benchmark night with the band.

We asked each of the band members to fill in the blanks:

Without music I would be in technology.

Music is my life.

My music makes me feel on top of the world.
