Gabe Guevara, a 25-year-old Robert E. Lee graduate, got started in music playing percussion at Moore Middle School in Tyler.

Before he was JB and the Moonshine Band's drummer, Gabe was a student, did pre-employment work for an oil company, and played with several bands around the East Texas area.

Gabe says the first song he ever learned to play was Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven.

Gabe's favorite artist, Keith Whitley is a large musical influence, as well as Pantera--and everything in between he says.

Nothing makes Gabe happier than playing music with his best friends, even through all of their practical jokes and "shenanigans."

He admits, playing shows in East Texas make him a little nervous.

When he's home, Gabe likes to fish, relax, and spend time with his close friends and family.

He looks fondly upon his entire career with the band, but says one of the highlights is the three-month, 17-state tour the band just wrapped up this summer. He says the tour established an un-rivaled camaraderie amongst the men.

Gabe advises aspiring musicians to "play as many shows as you can, aspire to learn more, and give it your all."

"The show at Billy Bob's is a milestone in our career," he says.

We asked each of the band members to fill in the blanks:

Without music I would be nothing...worthless.

Music is my life.

My music makes me feel sane and normal.
