TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Front man JB Patterson worked a successful advertising career before leaving to pursue his true love: songwriting.

The Palestine native writes and owns all of the band's music.

Willie Nelson and Metallica are big influences to JB, and he says, these days, you'll catch him with headphones in, tuned in to internet radio provider Pandora. He enjoys discovering something new.

Balancing the musician's life--late nights, multi-state tours, and living on a tour bus, while supporting his family, are challenges JB works to overcome. JB's a family man; he's married and has a three-year-old son.

Among his interests, JB likes to be with his family, listen to music, go fishing, and write songs "that make people feel something." When he's back in East Texas, JB and his wife enjoy visiting Tyler seafood joint, Breakers, for a good meal and a few drinks.

His most memorable experience so far in his career is playing to a sold-out crowd at Tyler's Electric Cowboy. JB recalls that the air conditioner in the club went out, and that it felt like 125 degrees in there. The thing that hit home with him, was the fact that the home crowd stuck-out the heat to enjoy the show.

JB's advice to aspiring musicians would be, "Have a good work ethic; Play every single show' and stay true to yourself."

When asked what headlining Billy Bob's Texas, JB said, "The show at Billy Bob's is the culmination of all our hard work." He added that he's thrilled to share it with his closest friends, family and long-time fans.

We asked each of the band members to fill in the blanks:

Without music I would be lost in some nine-to-five world.

Music is notes, math... the career I've chosen.

My music makes me feel great.
