Chris "Flo" Flores, 32, a Grand Saline native, graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1998. Chris plays bass guitar and provides harmony vocals for the band.

Before joining JB and the Moonshine Band, Flo worked as a hydraulics tech at Caterpillar.

Chris says the older he gets, the more he's inspired by the "oldies." These days, bands such as Earth, Wind & Fire and Toto influence Chris' musical style, but, he added, Metallica is an all-time favorite.

Dead or alive, the musical artist Flo would dream to play with is Jimi Hendrix, saying that Hendrix' style was well before his time--he was an innovator.

Getting to play music for a living with his best friends is one of the most rewarding items of his career, but life on the road presents its own challenges. Flo's a family man, and misses being near his family.

Chris' advice to aspiring musicians would be, "Follow your dream; Practice, practice practice; Hone your craft and be the best you can be; Never give up."

In his free time, Chris enjoys bass fishing, and says that if he weren't playing music he'd pursue a career as a professional bass fisherman.

Flo's most memorable experience with the band came from Des Moines, Iowa. JB and the Moonshine Band opened up at a country music festival for headliners Trace Adkins and Dierks Bently.

"We were the first band to play, so, whenever the gates opened, there was just a flood of people who started running towards the stage as we took the stage, and that was probably the coolest experience so far."

To Chris, the show at Billy Bob's means the band has achieved all their original goals, "It justifies all of our hard work.

We asked each of the band members to fill in the blanks:

Without music I would be incomplete.

Music is life.

My music makes me feel happy.
