Why being a constable can be so dangerous.

Tonight at 10, we're going to give you a different perspective on what some people argue is one of the most misunderstood but dangerous law enforcement jobs-- that of constable. Constables are receiving more attention since a gunman shot and killed Constable Brian Bachmann yesterday near Texas A&M. During the recent elections, we had viewers ask why they had to vote for constables since their areas already had sheriff's deputies. Samantha Jordan will have a new report that explains what constables do and why their special duties can make their jobs extremely dangerous.

We're continuing to give you a unique understanding of the shooting at A&M. Lauren Callahan will have a new report on what she learned today in College Station. She spent the day talking with people directly affected by the incident.

Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto is still looking for rain. He's in the Storm Tracker 7 Weather Center, working on your new forecast. More East Texas counties are implementing burn bans so Mark knows you want rain. Tonight at 10, he'll let you know whether you can expect it.

And, are you ready for some football! The folks at John Tyler sure are. Coleman Swierc has a new report on how the Lions are responding to the pressure they're under to make this a state championship season.
