Former Mississippi State star and major league pitcher Bobby Thigpen is back in the Magnolia state this week.
The former Bulldog serves as the pitching coach for the Birmingham Barons.
Thigpen was a key member of the 1985 Mississippi State team that finished third in the College World Series.
He says it is always a pleasure to come back to the Magnolia State.
"It's something I look forward to when I got this job last year at the end of the season. I knew I was coming back to the Southern League, you know being close to Starkville. We're a couple of hours from here. I've had people come up here, this is our second trip here, there's people come by and say hello and ask me about Mississippi State," said Thigpen.
