Authorities in Western Tennessee have initiated a manhunt for an East Texas man wanted for the double-homicide of an elderly couple in Van Zandt County.

Our sister station in Memphis, TN, WMCTV, is reporting that the Lauderdale County Rescue Squad has set up a staging area in a WalMart parking lot in Ripley, TN.

Authorities say a man got gas at a station in Ripley Thursday morning, and left behind Donny Greenhow's ID.

Officials say the suspect, believed to be Greenhow, fled when he saw police in the area.

U.S. Marshals are assisting in the search. Crews are searching on the ground and in the air, in the area of Ft. Pillow Prison.

Investigators have located the vehicle they believe Greenhow was driving. It had been abandoned.

Greenhow is wanted on a capital murder charge in the double homicide of Peter and Latricia Shick in the Ben Wheeler area.

Authorities say Greenhow was a family friend of the victims. They say Latrisha's body was discovered in the kitchen and her husband, Peter, was found in their bedroom.

Investigators linked Greenhow to the murders by the fingerprints he left behind in a SUV stolen from Kaufman County.

Van Zandt County Sheriff Pat Burnett says he is aware of the manhunt for Greenhow, but no law enforcement agencies from Western Tennessee have not yet contacted him regarding Greenhow.
