Businesses get spirited for charity spelling bee

The Literacy Council of Tyler has been teaching people to read for decades.

They have also been attempting to make local corporations better spellers.

The 21st Annual Corporate Spelling Bee featured 17 teams all trying to out-spell each other.

Teams paid $500 to enter the bee, and awards were given for most spirit and best costumes.

Money earned goes to fund students learning to read.

Also, there is an online auction benefiting the Literacy Council of Tyler. Items up for bid include Cowboy Stadium VIP tour, Texas Rangers tickets, helicopter rides, gift certificates for manicures, dinners, and more. You can visit the auction site by clicking here.
