Jazz stars Mo Williams and Al Jefferson build chemistry
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Mo Williams and Al Jefferson are hoping fans in Salt Lake City will be talking about Mississippi this upcoming NBA season.
The two Magnolia State natives are finally paired together in Utah thanks to a late June trade that sent Williams to the Jazz.
"It's beautiful. I started in Utah. I'm happy to go back. I'm mostly happy with the fact that I'm playing with some players that I'm very excited to play with, especially this one of my right (Jefferson)," said Jackson native Mo Williams.
"For us now to become teammates, that's just icing on the cake. He's a great leader and hard player. The team that we had last year, that's all that we were missing is a guy like Mo," said Prentiss native Al Jefferson.
The two have always had a tight knit relationship, and the league will be able to see that first hand in 2012.
Williams has always been a figure Jefferson could lean on during the early stages of his career.
"We always had a friendship over the years. Ever since I was a rookie and came into the league. He's always been the one that's kind of been there for me and helped me adjust to the next level," Jefferson stated.
