JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

In June, WLBT Sports brought you the story of 9-year-old karate student Hope Berry and her goal of raising money for Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital through her Kick Out Cancer idea.

On Friday, Hope and her teammates from Gober's Karate in Pearl presented Batson with a check for $6,263.50.

The money was raised with every first place trophy the team won this season in competitions.

"It makes me feel great because I know that I'm giving these people that money, and I know that I'm helping them out. I just know that all these cancer kids are going to be better and get to go home, have fun with their family and enjoy their life," said Berry.

Hope and her teammates are already planning for Kick Out Cancer again in 2013.
