Good afternoon and happy Monday, everyone.

Here's some of what we're working on for you in the KLTV newsroom this afternoon:

Longview police say they have identified the suspect involved in a hit and run accident that happened just outside the Longview police station on Saturday night. A 20-year-old man was killed in the hit and run, and neighbors who knew him talked to KLTV's Samantha Jordan today and say he will really be missed. More on that at 5.

Many of you have asked us about the West Nile Virus here in Texas, so Dr. Ed Dominguez will join us, talking about the hot, dry weather creating the perfect breeding condition for mosquitos carrying the virus. Join us for our chat with him at 5.

Today was the last day for two Smith County Sheriff candidates to prepare for their run-off elections. the big voting day begins tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. Both candidates say they have continued their campaign since the primary election in May. KLTV's Jamey Boyum and Annette Falconer met with each of the candidates today, and they'll share what the candidates had to say, tonight at 6.

Services were held today for an ETX brother and sister who were stabbed to death last Thursday during an altercation with the sister's boyfriend, Terrance Barnes. We spoke with the siblings' sister today and she told us that she tried her best to stop Barnes. You'll hear from her at 6.

Join us for all of that and much more, including the latest on the weather and Ryan Peterson from Cowboys Camp!
