Hundreds of Christians from different denominations in East Texas joined together today for one purpose: to march for Jesus.
They met at Bergfeld Park in Tyler this morning and walked through the Azalea District, celebrating Christ as part of Jesus Day. Local contemporary Christian music station KVNE played music as the people walked through the streets.
One 9-year-old girl said it best when she told us why she marched for Jesus.
"We're spreading the word to everybody that we love Him," Courtney Johnson said. "There's tons of people out there that want to know about Jesus, and they're too afraid to come out. But we're trying to encourage people."
After the half-hour walk, everyone met back at the park for food, drinks, and faith-based entertainment.
