Three East Texas restaurants get serious violations

Three East Texas restaurants suffered serious violations in the latest inspection period.

In Longview Pho Saigon at 2655 Bill Owens parkway.

Meatballs , bean sprouts and beef were held to warm and had to be discarded. Several food items were not stored and dated marked and had to be discarded. A sandwich unit was out of temperature. Raw fish was stored in a hand sink. Black mold was found on soda nozzles.

Total demerits: 21

In Tyler, Cracker Barrel at 13821 North highway 69.

There was cross contamination between raw meat and raw fish above shredded lettuce. Inspectors observed both ice machines with mold build up, and baking sheets were encrusted with grease.

Total demerits: 15

Coyoacan Cafe, at 151 North highway 69, one of the food cooler's did not meet the temperature guideline, food stored too warm. The dish machine was not properly sanitized during the time of inspection. An employees child was seen drinking in the kitchen near a prep table.

Total demerits: 15
