TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A Tyler woman who was stabbed multiple times in her downtown Tyler apartment building has been released from the hospital, according to Tyler Police.

Victoria Massey suffered multiple stab wounds on her neck and chest during the attack.

It happened on Friday, June 29, at 408 N. Broadway at the Moore Grocery Loft Apartments. According to Massey's close friends, she's had several operations since the attack.

Police released a sketch on Sunday of Massey's attacker. He's described as a black male between 5'10" and 6' tall. with a thin build, short hair, and a thin mustache.

Massey's close friend Mary Salas posted sketches of her friend's attacker all over their complex doors.

"I've talked to some of her family members. She was released I think a day or two ago, but she's healing. She's had to have surgery to have her left ear sewed back on," Salas said.

Nearly two weeks ago, Salas walked out of her apartment to this scene. Victoria was in critical condition after being stabbed more than a dozen times.

Victoria was attacked in a stairwell. Police say she fought back until her children heard her screams and came rushing to her side.

"They got their mom a pillow and laid her head down on the pillow and she couldn't figure out right way if she had been shot or stabbed," Salas said.

Salas says Victoria's daughters did everything they could to help their mother survive until police arrived.

Victoria is Judge Quincy Beaver's secretary. Salas says she's seen Beavers around the complex helping the single mom with car rides and sometimes groceries.

Salas and others worry her position with Judge Beavers could be connected to the attack.

Police say they're aware of the situation, and are investigating all possibilities. But, some residents say they think it is retaliation.

Salas hopes Victoria's recovery will be quick, and her attacker's arrest even quicker.

No suspects or persons of interest have been named.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000.

The Tyler Police Department will host a crime watch meeting at the Moore Grocery Lofts on Thursday. Area businesses and residents are encouraged to attend the meeting at 410 N. Broadway at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held next to the leasing office.
