Lady Lobo Joins Mom As College Athlete

Another Longview Lady Lobo makes good on the hardcourt. Charlotte Johnson signed a letter of intent to attend East Texas Baptist University. The first team All-East Texas and All-District player wanted to stay close to home. She and her mother Sheila also become the first mother/daughter Lady Lobo tandem to play college ball from coach Tommy Aldridge's program.

"I always wanted to follow behind her footsteps," said Charlotte, "kind of make her look good since she was an All-State player.  I didn't exactly make All-State, but I get to go to college and play ball, so that's good enough for her, that's good enough for me."

"It's just been a blessing that the Lord allowed me to play basketball here at Longview," added Sheila, "and then my daughter. I mean, I had never imagined Tommy Aldridge would be here to coach her, but you know, it's really exciting."

Charlotte is the 61st Lady Lobo to play college ball from a program that has generated more than $4 Million in scholarships.
